Free Fire, a popular battle royale eSports video game, looks finally set to make a comeback in India after a more than two-year-long ban.

Developed and published by Singaporean company Garena, Free Fire was first released on December 8, 2017, and was available for both Android and iOS users.

The game primarily features two main modes, namely Battle Royale, where as many as 50 players fight to be the last one standing on an island, and the Clash Squad, a team-based mode where two teams of four players each compete in a best-of-five series.

However, Free Fire was banned along with 53 other Chinese apps by the Indian government in February 2022 due to concerns about national security, privacy, and espionage.

The ban though did little to diminish the popularity of Free Fire among its fans in India and on the contrary even increased its demand, resulting in plenty of unhappy and disgruntled fans.

Fans though haven’t lost hope about Free Fire making a return to the Indian market and have been patiently waiting for its return ever since its ban.

With that in mind, let’s speculate about the million-dollar question for fans of the game, which is when is the Free fire India launch date 2024.

Free Fire India launch date 2024

The Free Fire India launch date 2024 still isn’t official as the wait for the game’s return to the Indian market looks set to continue.

Developers of the game Garena last teased its return in September 2023 before facing another postponement due to refinements with its gameplay and compliance with Indian policies.

That said, it’s not all bad news for Free Fire enthusiasts who can soon look forward to the launch of the game if an Economic Times report is to be believed.

As per the report, the Free Fire India launch date 2024 is very close with the game now finalising its localisation process.

The report also went on to state that developers of the game are currently hard at work, setting up game servers in the country with the help of Yotta Data Services in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Free Fire’s collaboration with Yotta Data Services to relaunch in India comes after Garena had previously worked with the company to set up cloud-hosting groups in the country.

Furthermore, the report went on to add that Free Fire’s developers were already in the middle of testing servers at a data centre with high output capable of handling the load of millions of Free Fire players.
